This Privacy Policy explains how hyperLOOP (Pty) Ltd ("hyperLOOP", "we", "us") collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information when you use reinardduplessis.co.za (the "Website"), purchase from our online store (the "Store"), or engage our consulting and speaking services (the "Services").

We aim to comply with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 ("POPIA"), including the requirement to notify data subjects about prescribed matters when collecting personal information.

2) WHAT PERSONAL INFORMATION WE COLLECT

We may collect personal information directly from you, automatically from your device, and from certain trusted third parties needed to provide payments, delivery, hosting, and analytics.

2.1 Information you provide

  • Identity & contact details: name, email, phone number

  • Billing details: billing address (where applicable), proof of EFT payment (where applicable)

  • Delivery details (physical products): address and/or PUDO locker details needed for delivery

  • Order details: products purchased (physical book / digital book), order history, refunds/returns communications

  • Service engagement info: business details, requirements, meeting details, project scope inputs

  • Communications: emails, WhatsApp messages, support queries and related attachments you send us

2.2 Information collected automatically

  • Device & usage data: IP address, browser type, pages visited, approximate location inferred from IP, date/time of visit

  • Cookie/identifier data: see section 8 (Cookies)

2.3 Information from third parties

  • PayPal: payment confirmation and transaction references needed to process your order

  • PUDO: delivery status and routing information needed to deliver physical products

  • Webnode: our Website platform/host may process data required to host and run the Website

  • Google Analytics: website usage measurement and reporting (see section 8)

3) WHY WE PROCESS PERSONAL INFORMATION

We process personal information to:

  • fulfil Store orders (including digital delivery for digital books);

  • process payments (PayPal) and confirm payments (EFT);

  • deliver physical products in South Africa via PUDO (locker-to-door / locker-to-locker);

  • deliver Services (consulting, advisory, workshops, speaking);

  • communicate with you about orders, bookings, changes, and support;

  • maintain business, tax, and accounting records;

  • prevent fraud and secure our systems;

  • improve Website performance and user experience (analytics);

  • comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms & Conditions.

4) LAWFUL GROUNDS FOR PROCESSING

We process personal information on one or more lawful grounds under POPIA, typically:

  • to perform a contract with you (order fulfilment and delivery; providing Services);

  • to comply with legal obligations (record-keeping);

  • legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention, service improvement);

  • consent, where required (especially direct marketing preferences and certain cookies/trackers where applicable).

5) IS PROVIDING INFORMATION VOLUNTARY?

You may choose not to provide certain information, but we may then be unable to:

  • complete a purchase (especially delivery details for physical products); or

  • provide Services (if we cannot confirm scope, payment, or contact you).

6) WHO WE SHARE PERSONAL INFORMATION WITH

We do not sell your personal information.

We may share personal information with:

  • Payment processing: PayPal (to process payment)

  • Delivery/logistics: PUDO and related delivery operators (to deliver physical products)

  • Website platform/hosting: Webnode (to host and operate the Website/Store)

  • Analytics: Google Analytics (to understand Website usage)

  • Professional advisers: accountants, auditors, legal advisers (where needed)

  • Authorities/regulators: where required by law or to protect rights and safety

Where suppliers act as "operators" (processors), we aim to use reputable providers and appropriate contractual and security safeguards.

7) INTERNATIONAL TRANSFERS

Because we use Webnode and Google Analytics, some personal information may be processed outside South Africa (for example, on infrastructure located in other countries). Webnode provides data processing terms for websites hosted on its platform, and Google provides data processing terms for Analytics.

Where cross-border processing occurs, we aim to apply safeguards consistent with POPIA.

8) COOKIES AND GOOGLE ANALYTICS

8.1 Cookies in general

Cookies are small files stored on your device that help websites function and understand how users interact with them. We use cookies and similar technologies for:

  • essential functionality (security, basic site operation);

  • analytics/performance (understanding how the site is used).

8.2 Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to measure Website traffic and usage patterns (e.g., pages visited, approximate location, device type) so we can improve the Website. Google's documentation describes Analytics' privacy and data-processing approach and offers a Data Processing Amendment for Analytics accounts.

Google also states that GA4 does not log or store IP addresses for EU users (it drops IP before logging via EU domains/servers) and provides additional regional privacy controls.

8.3 Cookie consent and controls (Webnode)

Our Website is built on Webnode. Webnode provides cookie consent tools (cookie bar management) that allow you to display a cookie consent bar and control cookie preferences.

  • use the Website's cookie settings (where enabled); and/or

  • change browser settings to block or delete cookies (note: blocking essential cookies may affect site functionality).

If you opt in to marketing communications, you can opt out at any time by contacting info@hyperloop.co.za (or using an unsubscribe option where available). We aim to handle direct marketing in line with POPIA expectations and regulator guidance.

We keep personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes in this policy, including:

  • fulfilling orders and Services;

  • maintaining lawful business and accounting records; and

  • resolving disputes.

When no longer needed, we delete or de-identify information where appropriate.

11) SECURITY SAFEGUARDS

We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against loss, unauthorised access, or unlawful processing.

If there is a security compromise involving personal information, we will take reasonable steps to address it and notify affected parties where required.
